Sant Shri Asharamji Bapu Ashram, Bengaluru organized Mahamrityunjaya Mantra yajña, Rudra yajña & Ratri Jagran with Rudrabhishek on the occasion of महाशिवरात्रि Mahashivratri - 10th March 2024.

Rudra is another name for Lord Shiva. Just like Mahadev, Shankara, and so on, Rudra is extremely famous as the name of Lord Shiva. The term 'Rudra' is used amply in the Vedas. Rudra means tempest or a violent storm. Rudra focuses on the destructive nature of Lord Shiva. 1 Rudrabhishek puja is an extremely powerful puja. It is performed to seek blessings and good health from God. 2 The puja starts by pouring Gangajal on the Shivling and then the other materials meant for the puja like ghee, curd, milk and so I ate poured on the Shivling one after another. The puja starts by performing a homa on fire. 3 Lord Shiva is both gentle and aggressive. He is both forgiving and merciless. He is everything. He is the beginning and he himself is the end. This is how his devotees perceive him. 4 Rudrabhishek puja takes place in the Bengaluru Ashram. All through the puja, devotees chant ''Om Nama Shivaya'. 5 Rudrabhishek puja is paramount. It is extremely important as a ritual. It is considered to be one of the finest, purest, and most compelling rituals in Hinduism. Lord Shiva, in the Rudrabhishek puja, is worshipped by giving him a sacred bath along with flowers and the necessary materials required in this puja. 6
